Sales Tax Account Registrations and Employee Withholding Taxes

To register online for a Louisiana Sales Tax Account Number go to www.revenue.louisiana.gov/sections/business/intro.aspx.   Once you have registered with the state, if you would like to pay sales taxes online, the Louisiana Department of Revenue can withdraw any payments owed directly from you business’s checking account.  To register for this service, go to https://webtax.rev.state.la.us.  You also may pay your state taxes through https://secure.salestaxonline.com//Default.aspx

Business Licenses A variety of businesses, ranging from architects to wholesale drug distributors, are required to obtain a state license from the appropriate state governing board or commission. Some parishes allow you file for your sales tax number online at www.laota.com/registration/tax_application.htm If your business is located in Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto, Natchitoches, or Webster Parish, you also may pay your state taxes through https://secure.salestaxonline.com//Default.aspx

Fictitious/Assumed Name Applies to Sole Proprietors and Partnerships. If you do not use your legal name in your business’s name, you must register your fictitious/assumed name with the your Clerk of Court, www.sos.louisiana.gov/Portals/0/commercial/pdf/coc-list-ucc.pdf
