The Division of Marketing and Industrial
Development works with governmental and
economic development entities to help
recruit new businesses and industries to the
parishes and counties served by The
Coordinating & Development Corporation in
the Ark-La-Tex. Additionally, the Division
provides existing businesses with technical
assistance, support services, and other
forms of help in an effort to ensure their
success and prosperity in order to create
new jobs for the area's citizens.
Services

To accomplish its goals and
responsibilities, the Division provides
the following services:
-
Assists industrial prospects interested
in locating in CDC's service area by
helping them locate suitable facilities,
file for applicable state tax
incentives, comply with state and local
zoning and registration issues, etc.

Calls on out-of-state prospects during
regular prospecting trips arranged by
the Louisiana Department of Economic
Development, local chambers of commerce,
utilities, and other area economic
development organizations.

Arranges corporate executive tours of
local facilities, industrial parks,
ports, and other commercial/ industrial
sites.
-
Interfaces with local, parish, and state
elected officials on industrial/business
development projects and marketing
programs.
-
Develops site specific and general
advertising brochures, media kits, and
other forms of promotional materials for
individual economic development
attractions, such as industrial parks,
commercial areas, waterways, and ports.

Cooperates with and coordinates
industrial recruitment activities with
existing marketing divisions of area
chambers, utility companies, and
industrial boards.

Provides technical assistance, support
services, or other forms of help to
existing businesses that are planning
expansions or new endeavors.

Promotes the major selling points of our
region, including our abundant natural
resources such as timber and water; a
competitive, highly trainable workforce;
excellent transportation network, and
exceptional quality-of-life features
that make this area attractive to
prospects.

Identifies industries that would be a
match for our region's economy, then
actively recruits companies within those
industries through direct mail, cold
calls, and attendance at trade shows.

Works to improve and/or retain programs
that benefit our area's businesses.
-
Works to improve or eliminate political
and social barriers to industrial
development.

Maintains current community evaluations
and profiles for distribution to
interested corporate officers.

Develops and implements specific plans
to help improve the business climate so
that the area will continue to be
attractive to existing as well as
out-of-state businesses.

Develops and maintains current listings
of buildings and sites that are ready
for clients to visit.
